Looking after our community and providing excellent care

Travelling to The Balfour

Travelling by Car/Motorcycle:

If travelling by car, patient and visitor parking is near to the main entrance, with additional parking at Dialysis, the Emergency Department (ED) and Macmillan entrances for users of these services.  There are also designated disabled and motorcycle parking spaces, as well as electric car charging points.

If you can leave the car at home and walk or cycle, please do so. It’s good for you!

Please note NHS Orkney is not liable for any damage to or theft from any vehicle whilst parked in NHS Orkney car park areas.

Travelling by Bus:

Bus stops have been provided as near as possible to the main walkway with one sited on the walkway to allow ease of access for patients and visitors.

The X1 local bus service calls into The Balfour and you can find the timetable here

Cycling/Walking/Mobility Scooters:

Cycle racks are available next to the main entrance.  For those with shorter journeys there are various walking routes to the site and for visitors and staff there are a number of walking routes within the site with rest stops.  There are also designated parking spaces for mobility scooters.
