Looking after our community and providing excellent care

Team Orkney – Improving Together for our patients and community

We have launched a new organisation-wide improvement programme – called Team Orkney: Improving Together – to further improve care, services and the experience of our patients and community.

Our goal is to listen to and act on feedback from our patients, community and staff so we can continuously improve care and services for our community and so that we can become a learning organisation.

We are keen to hear your bright ideas on how we can improve our services, you can share your ideas by clicking here or by emailing ork.improvementhub@nhs.scot. Our Improvement Team will also be visiting community groups and getting out and about across Orkney in the near future. We are keen to hear your thoughts and how we can improve together on an ongoing basis. This programme is being led by Debs Crohn, our Head of Improvement.

Debs Crohn, Head of Improvement said: “Change really excites me, Team Orkney is on an exciting journey of improving together, through teamwork we will transform our services. What’s important to me is ensuring we communicate often and openly, and that’s why we’ve launched a dedicated website for staff which contains information on the programme, how they can share bright ideas and get involved in shaping our Improvement Programme. As well as giving you, the community, a platform to share your ideas, via the link and email address above, please do get in touch with your ideas, no matter how big or small.

Laura Skaife-Knight, Chief Executive said: Over the last 12-months many important foundations have been laid at NHS Orkney to ensure we can deliver much-needed sustainable change and improvement. At the heart of this has been reconnecting with Team Orkney and our community to build trusted and strengthened relationships. We have received some rich feedback over the last few months from our patients, community, partners, and patients about what matters most to you and we will be acting on this as we prepare to launch our new Corporate Strategy in the months to come. We are determined to become a continuously-improving and learning organisation and our Improving Together Programme is one of the ways we will achieve this, with feedback from patients, our community and staff vital to delivering positive changes on an ongoing basis for our community and staff. Please get involved, share your ideas for improvement and have your say.”
