Many congratulations to the Team Orkney Award shortlist
Today we announce the 42 individuals/teams who have been shortlisted for our 2025 Team Orkney Awards.
Our shortlist has been chosen by our judging panel who had the difficult job to whittle down the 157 nominations to just 42 finalists. Those shortlisted are recognised for their exceptional contributions and for looking after our community and providing excellent care.
We are again working in partnership with The Orcadian who have sponsored the People’s Choice Award.

Laura Skaife-Knight, NHS Orkney Chief Executive, said: “Very many congratulations to everyone who was nominated for this year’s staff awards, and special recognition to our 2025 shortlist. Our Team Orkney Awards were reintroduced last year in direct response to staff feedback and are now part of a wider programme of value and recognition in place to celebrate our fantastic staff throughout the year for people’s outstanding contributions when it comes to looking after our community and providing excellent care.”
Meghan McEwen, Chair of NHS Orkney, said: “It is truly remarkable to see these incredible individuals and teams nominated for our Team Orkney awards. I have no doubt that whittling down the nominations to this shortlist was no easy task and I thank everyone involved. I’d like to echo a huge congratulations to everyone shortlisted and best of luck for the awards ceremony at the end of the month. I’m looking forward to celebrating all that’s special about NHS Orkney.”
Leah Seator, Editor at The Orcadian, said: “Congratulations to all of the finalists, who are all truly deserving of this recognition. We were so impressed with all of the nominations, which illustrated a strong sense of camaraderie across NHS Orkney, and also the wealth of appreciation that exists between staff and their colleagues for those who work extremely hard, with patients always at the forefront of their mind — whether in a clinical or non-clinical role.
The sheer number of nominations received was amazing, and selecting finalists was a genuinely difficult task. Good luck to everyone on the shortlist, and we hope you all have a night to remember, celebrating at this special event on March 28.”
The winners will be announced at our awards evening on Friday 28March.
Our awards are possible thanks to the support from our sponsors and the Orkney Health Board Endowment Funds - a registered Scottish charity. For more information, https://www.ohb.scot.nhs.uk/orkney-health-board-endowment-funds.
