Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal (MSK) Waiting List – Waiting List Validation
Last year NHS Scotland introduced a text message service to ensure our patient waiting lists were up to date and that patients on these lists still required their appointments and operations. We have used this programme for various services across NHS Orkney and are now looking at our Physiotherapy MSK appointment list.
From next week, Monday 2 December 2024, patients who are currently on a waiting list for a Physiotherapy MSK appointment will receive a text message from The National Elective Coordination Unit (NECU) from mobile number 07860 039092.
These text messages will include a link to a short survey asking if patients still need their appointment, followed by a few questions to confirm their identity. People who are answering the survey on behalf of someone else must provide the patient’s details at this stage.
While the majority of patients will receive a text message, some patients will receive a telephone call. Again, these should be expected to be received from Monday 2 December.
The below posters explain more about the service, please do read these if you are waiting for a Physiotherapy MSK appointment.
You can find out more information about NECU on the website here, https://www.nhscfsd.co.uk/our-work/national-elective-coordination-unit/
If you have any questions regarding the instructions on the text, you can contact the NECU team via email on gjnh.necuadmin@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk.
For general enquiries regarding your appointment, you should contact the Physiotherapy Secretary via the main reception at The Balfour via phone on 01856 888100, likewise if you think you should have been contacted and haven’t, you can call The Balfour on 01856 888100.
Please note, some patients may be contacted via ourselves at NHS Orkney while the waiting list validation process takes place. If you are offered an appointment during this time, please do still attend and if you are sent a message, please confirm you still require to be kept on the list. We don’t anticipate this to be a large number of patients but if you have any questions at all regarding your appointment, please contact us.
