Kirsty Cole

Dr. Kirsty Cole MBE is a GP working at Skerryvore Practice in Kirkwall, where she has been a full time Partner for 13 years. She joined the NHS Orkney Board in April 2024 following her election as Chair of the Area Clinical Forum. She is currently the GP professional advisor for the Orkney Health and Social Care Partnership, Chair of NHS Orkney's General Practice Sub-Committee and Vice-chair of the Local Medical Committee

Kirsty has also provided over a decade of voluntary service in Orkney with the British Red Cross and the British Association for Immediate Care Scotland both as a provider of and trainer in pre-hospital care, event first aid and emergency response. She particularly enjoys providing medical support to the Orkney community at events such as The St Magnus Marathon, The County Show and The Ba’.

In 2022 she was appointed an MBE for services to General Practice and the community in Orkney during COVID-19. 

Kirsty enjoys the combination of her clinical commitments and working collaboratively with colleagues across the HSCP to improve services available to the community and her colleagues. She is looking forward to this new challenge with NHS Orkney.
