2-5 year old nasal Flu vaccination clinic

We are offering a further opportunity for all 2-5 year olds to have a nasal flu vaccination on Thursday 24 November at the Kirkwall Vaccination Centre:

Children in this age bracket, not at school and who have not yet received their vaccination this year, can attend at the following times. If you have received a letter, we would appreciate you making every effort to attend at the time allocated.

Surnames beginning with:

• A-L: 1.30-2.30pm

• M-Q: 2.30-3.30pm

• R-Z: 3.30-4.30pm

The flu vaccine is offered to all children aged 2 to 5 years on 1 September 2022 (and not yet at school). NHS Scotland recommends your child gets their free flu vaccine this year. This is for three reasons:

1. Flu can be serious, even for healthy children.

2. The flu vaccine helps prevent your child getting sick with flu and needing time off nursery or childcare.

3. The flu vaccine is an easy, painless and safe way to help protect your child this winter.

Almost all children can have the flu vaccine as a painless nasal (nose) spray. A very small number of children may need the vaccine by injection instead. Please go to https://www.nhsinform.scot/childflu for more information or call the Vaccination Team on 0300 303 5313.
