Looking after our community and providing excellent care

Queens Nurse Award

NHS Orkney is proud to announce that Inga Mackay graduated on Thursday 23 November as a 2020 Queen's Nurse, a title that is awarded to only twenty selected clinical leaders each year to enable nurses who work in Scotland’s communities to be the very best they can be.

Judy Sinclair, Excellence in Care Lead at NHS Orkney said “we are extremely proud of Inga, this has been a very different year to become a Queen's Nurse, from when they came together as a group from across Scotland in January to moving to online meetings. As well as becoming a Queen's Nurse, Inga also has another lovely achievement to celebrate – having given birth to a beautiful baby boy Freddie, just 20 days ago!”

The awards ceremony was held live on YouTube.
