NHS Near Me – Inpatients Online Visiting
In order to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19, visiting friends and family at the Balfour Hospital has changed. Whenever possible, you can now visit virtually using NHS Near Me when your friend or relative is unable to contact you through their own device.
NHS Near Me is a new video call service which enables you to visit patients in The Balfour by video link whilst we are unable to allow access to the wards.
During these times, you must have a pre-arranged slot for visiting your friend or relative.
To arrange a visiting slot, please call the Balfour on the number below which corresponds to the relevant area you wish to visit (see room numbers).
If you want to make a test call before you are due to visit, click the button below (please ensure you are using Google Chrome on Windows / Android devices, or Safari on Apple devices).
NHS Near Me virtual visiting
If we are able to support virtual visiting for you and an arranged visiting time has been booked, general information about using NHS Near Me is available by clicking here.
The short video below is also available showing how easy the process is to use:
- To enter the relevant virtual visitors waiting room, simply select the appropriate link from the list below, shortly before your allocated visiting time.
- On entering the visitors’ waiting room, the ward will be able to see that you have arrived and you are waiting and should be with you shortly.
- If the ward is running late for your visit, you should receive a message advising you of the delay.
