COVID-19: Changes to the way we deliver Speech and Language Therapy Services for Adults and Children/Young People
In line with guidance from the Scottish Government to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and to protect and safeguard patients and staff we are making changes to the ways in which we deliver Speech and Language Therapy Services for Adults and Children/ Young People.
Urgent appointments for dysphagia (eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties) are still being offered. These will be face to face where essential and via telephone or Near Me (video conferencing) where possible.
Due to the current situation, other appointments will be affected and there may be longer periods between appointments. Any appointments that are offered will be by telephone or NearMe videoconferencing (previously known as Attend Anywhere).
We are working together to develop plans to best support people on the routine waiting list. Where possible we will try to offer support and advice.
The following links provide some useful information and resources for supporting children and young people’s speech, language and communication development.
