Changes to Dental Services – Issued 18th March 2020
NHS Orkney and Scottish Government are well prepared to deal with Corona Virus (COVID-19). We understand this may be causing concerns for some people, but we want to reassure you we are taking steps to protect both patients and staff from any unnecessary exposure to COVID-19.
From today (Wednesday 18th March 2020), and until further notice, changes will take effect across Dental Services in Orkney.
If you are a patient at The Balfour or Garson Dental Clinics, then routine care has been suspended with immediate effect. We will continue to make appropriate arrangements to see our registered patients for urgent dental treatment.
During working hours:
- Patients registered at The Balfour or Garson should contact the Garson Clinic on 01856 850658 where you will be advised accordingly.
- Any patient who is not currently registered and who has an urgent dental problem should contact 01856 850658 and you will be advised accordingly.
- If you are registered with Orkney Dental Kirkwall, Orkney Dental Stromness, Daisybank Clinic or at Deyanov Dental, please contact them direct for advice on the following numbers:
- Orkney Dental Kirkwall – 01856 872030
- Orkney Dental Stromness – 01856 852815
- Daisybank Clinic – 01856 870547
- Deyanov Dental - 07717477629
Out of hours:
- Patients should use the same process as is currently in place and contact NHS 24 (111)
As the situation evolves, we will be posting regular updates via social media (Facebook and Twitter) and on NHS Orkney’s website. We would encourage people to check those sources for the latest information.
