Donation towards NHS Orkney Macmillan through Endowment funds
NHS Orkney Macmillan received a fantastic donation of £1107 from local company William Wilson following a coffee morning held last year.
Alasdair Rendall, Branch Manager said “For the last few years we have had coffee mornings in the branch for Macmillan however the money was donated directly to Macmillan through our parent company Wolseley. This year we asked if we could donate it locally as it makes it more personal for us, as we have all had family and friends that have been helped by our local Macmillan nurses and we were pleased when this was agreed with our Managing Director.
In the past we have managed to raise around £600, but this year we had a bigger push as it felt more personal to us and were really pleased with the amount of £1107.”
All staff from William Wilson chipped in along with their families who made homemade goodies for the coffee morning.
The Orkney Health Board Endowment fund is a registered charity which supports NHS Orkney services. It is supported by donations and legacies from patients, their relatives, the general public or other organisations. Donations to the fund are used to support local NHS services in Orkney, and you can specify that you would like your donation to benefit a particular ward, department, service or facility within NHS Orkney. Alternatively you can donate to our general fund, which can be used for a variety of purposes, such as supporting volunteer services and providing additional support to patients in our community.
