Joanna Kenny

Joanna Kenny joined the NHS Orkney Board in February 2021 and brings experience in local authority strategic planning and organisational change, with a strong emphasis on developing partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. She has expertise in using innovative engagement to widen participation in community learning and development and was an early adopter of e-learning and digital inclusion. She led on quality improvement, staff development, and equality and diversity, and worked with the UK government on a coaching and mentoring programme to improve the quality of teaching in adult learning.

Joanna is Chair of the Staff Governance Committee, sits on the Remuneration Committee, is a trustee of NHS Orkney Endowment Fund, and sits on the Orkney Alcohol and Drugs Partnership Strategy Group. Joanna is also a deputy member of the Integration Joint Board (IJB).

Joanna has lived in Sanday since 2008. She enjoys being by the sea, spending time with her pets, and growing plants. She is an advocate of continuous learning and is always busy learning a new skill or helping others to learn.
