Issy Grieve
Issy joined the NHS Orkney Board in June 2018, having retired from her previous role as Assistant Principal - Orkney College University of the Highlands and Islands. During which time Issy served on a number of the University committees, worked for the General Teaching Council for Scotland and Education Scotland. Her experience lies in a broad spectrum of education from pre-school through to further and higher education, a focus on quality assurance, staff development, learning and teaching.
Issy is currently chair of the Integration Joint Board (until June 2023), vice chair Audit and Risk, vice chair Endowments Sub committee. She attends all Board meetings, Endowment full committee meetings, Area Partnership Forum cyclically, Area Clinical Forum by request, and until June the Orkney Partnership Board and the IJB National Chair and Vice Chairs forum.
Issy previously chaired the Joint Care and Clinical Governance Committee and was a member of the Staff Governance committee.
Issy particularly enjoy invites from staff groups across NHS Orkney, to join their meetings, where she can answer any questions, listen, and learn about their teams.
Issy lives in Birsay, where she has an increasing flock of grandchildren, who keep her very active. She is a trustee of Birsay Heritage Trust, the Kristin Linklater Voice Foundation and the Scottish and Southern Electrical Community Trust.
Issy is a keen thespian, director with Birsay Drama Group and an avid member of Orkney Voices.
