Des Creasey

Des joined the NHS Orkney Board in March 2022 and brings extensive business and consulting experience across numerous sectors (Public Sector, Finance, Oil & Gas, and many others), both here in Scotland and also across the globe.

He has a deep cultural understanding gained through travel, long periods of overseas work and the range of different industries in which he has worked. Des is proud to approach life with empathy and consideration at all times, and promotes a transparent, honest culture as the “norm.”

With deep ties to island life in Scotland (Arran in particular) he is passionate about his position in Orkney and welcomes any engagement regarding challenges, feedback or a general "hello".

Des is Chair on the Finance & Performance Committee and also sits on the Staff Governance Committee.

A keen cyclist, squash player and rugby enthusiast he has a love of being active and in the outdoors as often as possible.
