Practice Education
Nursing and Midwifery Clinical and Practice Education
As a team our aim is to support Nursing and Midwifery Education across NHS Orkney.
We are registered professionals with backgrounds in various fields of nursing and midwifery: contributing to ensure that our nursing workforce is fit for purpose and practice.
We do this by supporting learning in practice and working closely with nursing and midwifery staff to create and foster quality learning environments, mentoring a variety of learners from pre-registration nursing students to staff undertaking post-registration qualifications. We provide a link between service and our partner educational institutions. In addition, we provide support and information for staff undertaking development programmes such as NHS Flying Start®.
