Our judging panel will now have the difficult task of shortlisting the nominees down to just 3 per category before our awards ceremony at the end of March 2025. The shortlist will be announced early March.

Laura Skaife-Knight, Chief Executive at NHS Orkney said: “These awards, now in their second year, are a direct response to staff and community feedback as are the new and revised award categories for 2025. We now have a comprehensive value and recognition programme for our staff which means we can celebrate outstanding contributions throughout the year. I’m delighted to see so many of our staff being nominated and recognised by our patients, community and their colleagues. Very many congratulations to everyone who has been nominated - this is an incredible achievement. The next step is to shortlist the nominees and we’ll be announcing these next month before the awards night at the end of March.”

Meghan McEwen, Board Chair at NHS Orkney said: “Our Team Orkney Awards are now a highlight in my calendar and I’m really looking forward to the awards night in March. I’d like to share my congratulations to all those nominated and hope everyone takes a minute to reflect on the importance of being nominated by their peers and the community. These awards are an opportunity for us to acknowledge and celebrate the many successes and achievements from across the health and care sector in Orkney.”

Leah Seator, Editor at The Orcadian who sponsor the Awards said: “The Orcadian is thrilled once again to sponsor this event, which proved last year just how important it is to celebrate the efforts of the heroes of our healthcare sector. It was a wonderful event, and we are certain that 2025's celebrations will only build on the solid standard set last year, not least by giving NHS Orkney's hardworking staff a well-earned night to let their hair down!

We are delighted that so many have taken the time to vote, showing wide local appreciation for healthcare staff who often go above and beyond to help. Hearty congratulations to all the nominees — we very much look forward to celebrating with you all in March!”

We once again want to thank each and every person who submitted a nomination, whether that was internally via the staff nominations or externally via the “People’s Choice” which was open to all.

The Awards are possible thanks to support from the Orkney Health Board Endowment Funds. The Orkney Health Board Endowment Funds are a registered Scottish charity (SCO16919). For more information visit our website at, Orkney Health Board Endowment Funds.
